Ingredients:

  • 500g beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Sliced cucumbers

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the sliced beef and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for best results.

  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated beef onto skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking.

  3. To assemble the gyros, warm the pita bread in the oven or on the grill. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on the inside of the pita, then add the grilled beef, sliced tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. Fold the pita in half and enjoy!
